
CS is a response to user's wishes in the area of house-cleaning, envisioning one of the possible ways in which cleaning chores will be performed in 10 years time. The system consists of a robotic vacuum which is in charge of deep cleaning tasks, an expandable handheld vacuum for specific cleaning and a docking station that helps the two vacuums to interact, also allowing the user to teach the robot about specific spaces at home.
CS är ett svar på hur städning i hemmet skulle kunna utföras om 10 år. Systemet består av en dammsugarrobot som sköter den huvudsakliga städningen, en handhållen del för mindre städning och en dockningsstation som hjälper de två dammsugarna att kommunicera med varandra. Dockningsstationen tillåter även användaren att lära roboten speciella områden i hemmet.
EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES :: The project dealt with the application of new technologies in the area of robotics. The aim was to find an appropriate application of those technologies into a product which could serve and help in specific tasks difficult to be performed by humans due either to the risk it would imply or for improving efficiency. In my particular project the aim was to solve in a clever manner the way to track trapped people in high-rise fires so that firefighters can act in a much faster way by having the appropriate information at the precise moment they need it. For that propose a series of configurations had to be done regarding state-of-the art technologies (sensors, cameras, etc…) and analysis of the most proper way for the robot to utilize those existing technologies. In the end the research was based on systems which would help the robot to have the autonomy needed in order to track persons from the exterior of a building.
Brand identity and strategic design. The intention of this project is to find new possibilities for product development within the Fiskars gardening brand, based on the company values.Since 1649, Fiskars has been committed to producing innovative, quality tools. The tradition of innovation and precision focused on meeting gardeners’ needs guarantees that Fiskars tools are the right choice for the user. At Fiskars, the ultimate goal is to make gardeners’ lives easier. To become a Fiskars product, the tool has to exceed performance expectations, be comfortable and easy to use, and solve an existing frustration. On top of that, it also needs to look good (like all Fiskars tools do).
Gato is a GPS navigator/compass designed to make use of sound as a major interface element. It uses sound to direct its user to the correct waypoints. The sounds for Gato were also designed and developed using Adobe Audition software. Many details of the interface were also resolved. This project is the result of the collaboration between Mine Danisman (Interaction Designer MA), Mert Torun (Interaction Designer MA) and Ladislao Camarena (Product Designer MA).
PRIMER CAFÉ is an important chain of cafés located in Mexico City, we were asked to design most of the brand identity such as interiors, furniture and graphics. It all was strongly related to the indigenous culture in southern Mexico through form and traditional materials which were implemented in a novel way. This furniture has been awarded by the most important Design organization in Mexico (www.quorum.org.mx) and exhibited in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. This project is the result of a collaboration with maestro Benjamín Dueñas Figueroa.
WAVE is a vision about the future identity for MAGIS (www.magisdesign.it). This project was developed in conjunction with the company with a duration of 8 weeks. The aim was not only proposing the identity through aesthetics but also the company was interested in utilizing new materials and processes within its production line.
